Srinivas Chennamaraja - CEO

Srinivas Chennamaraja is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Akira responsible for the strategy and growth. During the last decade he has built and grown the company with a strong focus on meeting and advancing customer missions. With over 20 years of progressive experience in Prodcut design, product development & management, and consulting for start-ups, Global corporations and Federal Government agencies, Mr. Chennamaraja has provided Akira with stellar leadership. Prior to founding Akira, he worked for various seed stage star-up companies in the product development/management roles as well as consulting to Fortune companies.

Mr. Chennamaraja graduated with an MBA degree from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a Master’s Degree in Engineering from University of Oklahoma.

Steve Roth - COO/CFO

Steven D. Roth is Chief Operating Officer and responsible for day to day operations of Akira Technologies.  Mr. Roth is a also a Partner in the Private Equity Firm of CM Equity Partners.  Prior to Akira, Mr. Roth was President of Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, a diversified provider of systems engineering, technical consulting and information technology services to key public sector agencies, where he was responsible for starting the division and growing revenue above $100 million.  Mr. Roth’s experience includes overall corporate management, mergers & acquisitions, operations, and business development at technology companies and government systems integrators. He has served in technology management roles at Sun Microsystems, Silicon Graphics, Octel Communications and 3Com.

Mr. Roth is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Smith School of Business. He is a member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council and AFCEA. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Dingman Center at the University of Maryland, Smith School of Business.

Eric Sharpsten- Chief Technology Officer

Eric Sharpsten is the CTO of Akira where he is responsible for focusing on disruptive technologies, lean software development, infrastructure & cloud, and scalable architectures delivered securely with a mission-first mentality. Mr. Sharpstein has extensive experience matching existing and emerging technology capabilities and trends to accomplish business objectives. Prior experience in the design and development of real-time mission critical systems for the defense and intelligence sectors has established the skills, insight, and discipline required to support large complex programs and projects to completion. He previously worked at Lockheed Martin’s IS&GS Federal Health division as the Chief Technology officer, responsible for providing technology oversight for the CMS Services IT infrastructure including support for three data centers, LAN/WAN infrastructure, and endpoint computing services across the US and Puerto Rico.

Mr. Sharpsten holds an MBA from Le Moyne College and BA in Computer Science from State University of New York (SUNY).

Fabian Morrison, Director of Finance and Accounting

Fabian Morrison is the Director of Finance and Accounting at Akira, where he is responsible for managing daily accounting operations. He oversees financial planning, analysis, and developing strategic plans. He manages daily accounting operations and coordinates all audits (contractual, FY audits, bank audits, etc.). Responsible for all NAV system administration. He serves as an advisor to management regarding potential risks and corrective actions, as well as continually working to identify areas for growth, financial improvement, and improvement in indirect rates.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Strayer University.

Gail A. Carter - Director of Contracts and Compliance

Gail A. Carter, Director of Contracts and Compliance.  Gail has over 25 years of progressive, life-cycle acquisitions and contracting experience supporting Federal Government Programs with Department of Defense, Intel, GSA, NASA and many other Federal Civilian Agencies.  Gail has 3 years’ experience as a Federal Government Certified Level 3 Contracting Officer (ACO/PCO/TCO). Gail received her Master’s Degree in Procurement and Acquisitions Management from Webster University. 

Gail has primary corporate responsibility for contracting across the corporation and is the focal point for all contracting activities with Government Contracting Officers, Prime Contractors and Vendors.  Gail is passionate about balancing the needs of the business, and contracts and compliance. 

Arlette Johnson - Director, Human Resources

Arlette Johnson is a senior level executive with over 25 years’ experience in Human Resources. She is results-oriented and possesses a strong background in providing corporate-level support with leadership and management of company’s HR functions for government and commercial businesses. Ms. Johnson is an expert in the ability to drive organizational effectiveness to advance the company’s vision and provide guidance to management teams in HR matters; directing staff on HR functions, and developing, interpreting and implementing policies and procedures according to federal and state laws. She is an innovator in developing and implementing corporate Human Resource strategy and programs to include organizational development, recruitment and staffing, employment law, performance management, employee relations, training and compensation and benefits.

During her career she has designed and establish full-service HR departments for several emergent companies that increased in size from small to mid-size. Ms. Johnson has been a leader in driving change targeted at strategic growth. She is highly skilled in bringing balance and simplicity to Human Resources processes and effective at articulating processes to staff and management. She is well practiced at innovative problem-solving solutions with the ability to facilitate management/staff collaboration to achieve business goals. Ms. Johnson integrated cross-functioning teams to develop and communicate corporate culture and defined common visions of success and has conducted training sessions covering specified areas to include best business practices and leadership development. Ms. Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral and Social Science.

Paul Schiele - Manager for Business Development

Paul Schiele is the Manager for Business Development for Akira Technologies, working to develop the company’s business development strategy for continued account and market penetration within the Federal IT space.  Paul is a retired US Army Officer and Executive Leader with over 30 years’ experience in all facets of business development, budget management, investment analysis, and controllership within high-profile corporations.  He has excellent knowledge of System Development processes and Capture and Pursuit processes including experience leading the identification, qualification, pursuit, proposal development and capture of opportunities.  He has extensive experience with GWAC, BOA, BPA, GSA Schedule, and other contract vehicles. Demonstrated experience winning multi-million dollar contracts with a proven record of successfully growing a business with expanded customers and markets.

His experience includes: Acquisition Support, Human Resources, Information Technology, Force Protection and Border Security Technology (Including Chem/Bio, Rad, Nuc, Tunnel Detection, Counter Drug) used at/for Military Installations and Border Security, DOD/DOS Counter Narcotics Operations, Conventional and Special Weapons Demil Operations (including OB/OD, EDS), HAZMAT Remediation Operations, Logistics and Engineering disciplines and managing complex activities within the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security.

Before joining the Akira team, he served in leadership roles at Decision Point/Cortek, Patricio Enterprises, MTEQ and Camber Corporation now part of Huntington Ingalls.
