The Proposal Writer position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of proposal development—ensuring accuracy and integrity of all proposal documentation, coordinating internal flow and review of all proposal inputs, and directing final production of the proposal. The Proposal Writer creates, maintains, revises and responds to complex, high-quality proposal documents as assigned for internal and external use (i.e., RFP, RFI, RFQ, RFS, etc.). This position works closely with proposal manager(s), proposal writer(s), sales, subject matter expert(s) and business development manager(s). Proposal Writer assigns new requests to the appropriate proposal writer, prepares proposal work plans, develops compliance matrices, makes preliminary writing assignments, and gathers extraneous documents that are required for the final RFP submission (i.e., signatures, insurance requirements, etc.). In addition, this position is responsible for establishing consistency and providing administrative support during the proposal development process. The Proposal Writer will proofread all final proposals prior to submission to ensure all proposal requirements are met. The Proposal Writer is also responsible for ensuring the RFP database content remains current, training other proposal team members on new products, internal processes, etc. and assists with the training of Sales personnel on the Capture & Proposal Process. This position must be able to organize complex material, design, write and edit proposal documents, client communications and work effectively under pressure in a team-oriented environment. Essentially, the Proposal Writer is responsible for producing cohesive, well-organized proposals that are focused and responsive to customer-defined requirements and is considered the “go-to” person for other members of the proposal team.
