The Defense Logistics Agency contracted Akira Technologies to function as the sole supplier for its Enterprise Personal Computing Program. This IDIQ contract will last five years and is worth $53 million. The contract entails a Blanket Purchase Agreement, in which Akira will acquire commercial hardware and accessories on behalf of the DLA. These purchases include desktops, laptop tablets, monitors, warranties, upgrades and more. The supplies will be sent throughout the United States, the Pacific Region, Europe and Africa.
The DLA is an agency in the United States Department of Defense. The main purpose of the DLA is to provide logistics support to military personnel across the globe. Akira is doing its part by supplying commercial hardware to support the military services. Akira will leverage DLA buying power to obtain favorable pricing and terms and conditions on all equipment. Akira has the goal of standardizing and simplifying the ordering and maintenance processes. These are a few of the ways Akira will make the jobs of the men and women serving the United States a little simpler.
Akira is proud to announce that with its help, HP will make its first appearances in the DLA workplace. Akira will use HP as the sole retailer for all of the DLA purchases. Akira is opening a new market for HP while also providing quality products to the DLA. Both parties believe this will lead to a long and successful relationship.
